Vintage 36

The Vintage 36 Class can trace its history back to the 1930s with free-sailing 36-in class models. The current V36 class was added to the US VMYG class lineup around 2003 as a companion to the established Vintage Marblehead class. With an overall length of 36 in and sail area limit of 600 in2, the boat is easy to transport and carry in any vehicle. Plans are still available from the A.J. Fisher Company for Chico II, and many lines drawings for 36-in model yachts have been published in The Model Yacht. A Restricted 36-in model class is also active in the UK, and many of those plans can be built to US VMYG V36 rules. In addition, classes for building R/C V36 models have been offered at the WoodenBoat School and other organizations.
