This is a Vintage Marblehead event at Redd’s Pond in Marblehead, MA.
Bill Full was involved in model yachting with Marblehead 50-800 design at Redd’s Pond as Marblehead MYC member from 1946 until his passing in 2005: 50 years. He was a true mentor to many as well as superb design innovator, such his self-tacking, Full vane gear for free-sail model racing starting in 1940s.
VMs marking rounding at Redd’s Pond, Marblehead, during the 2009 Full Cup VM Invitational Regatta. These have both Traditional (1930-1945) and High Flyer (1946-1970) VM design models. Organized events for sailing models (free-sailed and radio-controlled) have been conducted continuously at our historic Redd’s Pond since the early 1890s under auspices of Marblehead Midget YC (youths) and Marblehead MYC (adults).
