This item has been sold and is no longer for sale.

This boat is an OSI design built by V. L. Ward in January 1951. Its Sail Number was U-495 and was owned by Lewis Tremonti of San Diego, California. The boats name was “Vega” and was the 1951 National A-Boat Champion. This information is recorded on the underside of the hatch cover.

Boat Length is 72 ¾” ; Beam 16″; Weight Approximately 62 lbs. There is a handle inside the hull thru the deck hatch for lifting the boat. The boat has a PVC cradle with wheels to assist in launching the boat. The boat has its original mast (Length 91 ¼”) with standing and running rigging and a Lassel Freesail Vane.

Other information: The boat does not have sails or a jib boom; the main boom was recently constructed; the pintle for the vane needs to be reattached to its support and should probably be relocated closer to the rudder post; a new feather is needed for the vane.

The boat is offered at $850, the proceeds of which will be donated to the US Vintage Model Yacht Group in its entirety. The boat which is in San Diego, California, can be delivered within 200 miles of San Diego, California to the purchaser. For an East Coast Purchaser, my friend Jim Linville will be visiting San Diego in December 2019 and has indicated that he would transport the boat back to the New England area for the price of a tank of gas.
