Model Yacht Manufacturers and Sellers
This is a partial list of the manufacturer of model yachts. In many cases the model yachts are a peripheral product or diversification of their product lines. These manufacturers usually produced railroad, automotive, airplane toys, and related items. Many made their own toys, some jobbed them out and they often put the retailer’s information on the boat for stores like FAO Schwarz. In some cases, the boats were sold by one company but made by another.
Tin boat makers concentrated on key-wound, or later, battery powered boats. Sailing vessels were of minor importance to some of these businesses. These manufacturers often shared showroom space at 200 Fifth Avenue in New York City.
