Memberships
The mission of the US Vintage Model Yacht Group (US VMYG) is to honor the early years of the sport of model yachting through the promotion of older free-sailed model yachts, the conversion of early free-sailed model yachts to radio-control (R/C), the development of more recent R/C model yachts from vintage (pre-1970) designs, and to embrace later vintage boat classes of interest.
The US VMYG focuses on boats that are pre-1970 and often very early model yachts. The Group supports International A Boats, Schooners, Skipjacks, Unrestricted Model Racing yachts, Vintage 10-Raters, Vintage 36 (36/600), and Vintage Marbleheads (50/800). Our newsletter, The Model Yacht, and our website have been redesigned. The newsletter is being distributed in full color (digital edition) and will feature articles on building and restoring vintage model yachts, vintage events, vintage resources, barnacles (you need to join to find out what these are), and other features. The mailed edition is printed with color covers and black and white pages.
