Sole U K. Distribution by RIPMAX Ltd This new receiver replaces our Ivy Carrier Wave Receiver and Invistor unit which are now no longer available. As seen by the above illustration, the receiver is now completely different both in design and construction to the original two separate units. The new receiver is assembled on to a printed circuit panel and is much more compact. One obvious advantage in the construction is the fact that the valve is lying on its side. The circuit is also different from the original and no longer includes a quench coil, and the sensitivity coil has been replaced by a variable resistor. Once this is set, alteration is not normally necessary other than for adjustment due to voltage variation. There is a single tuning coil and the tuning itself whilst similar to the original receiver, is not nearly as critical. The transistors of the original Invistor are included in the new receiver to give a relayless output, and in addition, an extra silicon transistor is incorporated for temperature stability. However, if required, a low resistance relay may be used without alteration to the receiver. Current drain of both the H.T. and Ll batteries is extremely low, and in consequence the smallest batteries will suffice. Construction of the new kit is extremely simple, requiring the insertion and soldering only of the components into a printed circuit panel, which is clearly marked showing the position, reference and outline shape of each component. The printed circuit conductors are pre-tinned to facilitate soldering and as seen by the illustration, the components are well spaced, giving ample clearance between each soldered joint. The tuning and aerial coil, normally the most difficult operation for the beginner, is supplied already assembled and soldered to the printed circuit panel. This receiver, therefore, is an ideal beginner’s project and most suitable for medium size model aircraft and, of course, model boats. It can be operated by any of our carrierwave transmitters, and when both are used with the recommended batteries, will give ground range in excess of 600 yards. Sole U.K. Distribution by RIPMAX Ltd 4g 5 OF | oy” & A single channel receiver which can be operated by any of our tone transmitters. The unit contains five transistors and does not require the use of a relay when coupled to a rubber or clockwork driven actuator, motorised actuator or small electric motor. However, if required, a low resistance relay may be used without alteration to the receiver. The receiver is not subject to swamping and can be operated by a transmitter with constant carrierwave and separate keyed tone or both keyed simultaneously. The choice of operating this receiver by a single or two-battery system offers practically complete freedom from pulse interference by small electric motors or relay contacts. The receiver is supplied sealed in a strong transparent plastic case complete with tuning tool and full instructions. To quote one well-known exponent of single channel radio—this is definitely a “‘fit-and-forget”’ receiver. SPECIFICATION: Case size overall Weight: .. – ” – we 2X18″ x2” 1:02.
