Oct 3-5h 2025 – Beachwood, NJ
Hello Skippers,
We are excited to welcome you to Beachwood, NJ for the 2025 US VMYG National Championship Regatta, hosted by the Barnegat Bay Model Yacht Club. We have a couple updates and reminders we would like to share.
For those arriving Thursday evening. We are planning a possible ride on a traditional Barnegat Bay A Cat. If you are interested, please let me know immediately so we can plan accordingly.
Friday evening will have a low-key picnic at the regatta site starting at 5 pm. Saturday night dinner will be at Water Street Bar and Grill with a buffet and cash bar. We will be collecting money for dinner at $40/ head. Please see George Schuld or Richard McOrmond for payment or questions.
In regards to launching and safety around the docks, we are planning on having a 10’ x 60’ floating dock for launching and retrieving your models. There is also a natural beach to the east of the racecourse. Please note we will be sailing from a dock and bulkhead. We do not want to see any injury or damage to boats. Please take your time and keep an eye on where you are walking as you traverse the racecourse. If this becomes an issue, we may section off an area for those racing. Additionally, we will be racing in brackish water. A freshwater washdown station will be available for use. Feel free to bring any additional product like Salt Off.
We have brought in professional Photo and videographer Peter Slack who is graciously volunteering his time to support this regatta. Peter will be not only on the water photographing the boats but filming on and off the water. If you are approached, we encourage you to open up and talk about your boat or how the racing is going. Please feel free to follow Peter on social media or on his YouTube channel. Photos and videos from the regatta will be posted.

Due to the number of boats on the water please expect a modified race schedule that will be presented during the 9:30 am skipper’s meeting. Weather provided we will get as many races in as possible.
