Schooner

For sheer beauty under sail, schooners have no equal. If it has two masts ahead of the rudder and the aft mast is taller or equal in height to the forward mast, it’s a Schooner. The US VMYG Schooner Class includes some of the earliest pond yachts. The intent of the class is to preserve the heritage of the schooner and to encourage the construction and sailing of scale model representations of schooners based on original designs.

The  Schooner Class has several divisions to fit various sizes and construction methods, and all are welcomed. Under 50 in or over 50 in, internal ballast or external lead bulb with a keel, they are all acceptable.
