For Sale: Vintage Marblehead Cheerio III (50-800) (SOLD)

Jane Peterson is selling her beautiful and competitive Cheerio III (50-800). This is a vintage Marblehead, Jane built it 2009.

The Cheerio III was designed in 1939 by John Black who won at the 1936 Berlin Olympics with an earlier version of this great boat.

The Atlantic cedar planked hull and aircraft plywood deck are beautifully bright finished.  Epoxy and varnish inside and out. Frames are BS1088 marine plywood. All fittings are brass or bronze. All is in good working order.  Hull is sanded to 2500 grit. It is Fast!

THREE Sitka Spruce rigs for all-condition sailing; 800 “A” rig ½ oz, 600 “B”rig 1 ½ oz and  800 “Super A” high aspect ratio 1oz rig.

The servos are the HITEC HS765HB and FUTABA S3004

Ready to sail (and win) with your own Tx/Rx and battery. (AA battery case included).

Offered at $1600 and including storage/shipping crate and Sail box. FOB Portland Maine with shipping extra at cost. Local pickup is OK.
