This was originally a very rough hull that the original owner thought was from the 30’s, 40’s or even 50’s. However, the date is not known for sure.
USVMYG member Dave Querin obtained the hull from eBay as a restoration project. The pictures you see show the beautiful restoration work to date, but Dave could not finish the restoration. It is now waiting for the right owner to finish the work.
The hull is 48” long, with a 71/2” beam and weighs 10 lbs. It’s waiting for the right person to provide electronics, sails, deck hardware and small other touches to finish the restoration. Dave kept meticulous records of his original purchase and restoration progress. These records will accompany the boat.
Dave’s daughter would like to honor his memory by finding this vintage hull a worthy home, and all she wants in payment is a skipper who is able to complete it and sail it.
She is offering this model yacht for local pickup in the Mt. Pleasant, SC area. While local pickup is highly preferred, it might be possible to pack and ship the Starlet if the new owner will reimburse the costs.
