This wonderfully crafted and detailed model Schooner was built by modelmaker Ken Lockley of the Victoria Ship Building Society. It was inspired by the full-size Malabar II Schooner “Retriever” which was built by Marc Scott of Montana.
The pictures show that this radio-controlled beauty is unparalleled in its attention to craftsmanship and detail. The visuals give you a taste of Retriever’s features, but it must be seen up close to be fully appreciated.
Retriever is an impressive 50 1/4” from stern to bow sprit, and 47 3/4” from bottom of keel to top of masts. Retriever comes with boat-stand, sails, rigging, remote control, charging wires and touch up paints. It also has the original blueprints and the correspondence, with check receipts and photos, for each stage of its build.
Retriever is one of a kind and is being offered for $12,000 OBO and she is located in the North Hampton, NH area.
