According to legend this model yacht was built in the 1890’s. It is a beautiful gaff rigged sloop. The hull is a one piece carved hull as is the cabin top.
The fittings are brass with working blocks and special attention to detail. The steering mechanism suggests that the time period is correct.
This boat belonged to an elderly gentleman in Florida who knew the details about the boat. He gave the boat to Dave Brawner. It needed work so Dave asked if I would do the work. The boat was cleaned up, received a new suit of sails (patterned after the tattered set of sails), and was re-rigged. It has interesting fittings such as the cleats and belaying pins for tying off lines.
When Dave passed away the boat arrived on my door step.
It is 52” LOA and stands five-feet high. It is a little dusty.
