This Starlet is a hard chine Sharpie, and it is looking for a new home. It was built using John Blacks original design from the 40’s, and according to the owner it has some modifications inspired by Thom McLaughlin. It is 36” long and would sail in the Vintage 36 class.
This Sharpie was beautifully made by USVMYG member Dave Querin and only needs a little more work to be ready to sail. It comes with a sail winch and rudder servo installed, but no radio/receiver. It has a mast and spars, but it still needs deck hardware/rigging hardware and sails.
It’s worth mentioning that Dave kept meticulous notes during building and those will come with the boat.
His daughter would like to honor her father’s memory by finding the Starlet a worthy home, and all she wants in payment is a skipper who is able to complete it and sail it to the front of the fleet.
The Starlet us available for local pickup in the Mt. Pleasant, SC area. While local pickup is much preferred, it might be possible to pack and ship the Starlet if the new owner will reimburse the costs.
