This is a beautifully made 36” free sailed model yacht. It has he following details:
– custom brass fittings through out
– a deck marked to look like planking and includes an unusual toe rail
– original cotton sails with very nice details
– hull is buttock carved
– hatch cover is marked Iris and MYC with a distinctive burgee
– the booms have numbered markings, while rare, are generally thought of as indicators for tuning
– the boat sits on a nicely made mahogany stand
– the boats is rigged for free sailing with a Braine steering mechanism
– Iris is likely the boat’s name, however the burgee (flag on the hatch) is not identifiable.
The boat shows very little use and no damage. Other than some dust and tuning it would be ready for display or to be sailed.
It is possible that this is a British boat.
