You will need to tie two basic knots for the rig as you assemble it. They are the bowline and the square knot.

The only other thing you need to know is how to finish the knot. By that we mean how to stop them from “untying”. You glue the knot. Use a fast-setting glue such as cyanoacrylate adhesive (use the thin CA), known as super glue.
Put a paper towel behind the knot and apply one drop of glue. The extra glue will wick into the paper towel. Immediately remove the paper towel. This will absorbs the excess glue and protects the other parts of your rig. And it secures the knot, preventing it from “untying” on the boat. If it is a tight space around the knot twist the end of the paper towel into a cone and slip the cone behind the knot.
