The Huson 36 kit was manufactured by the Dumas Company and was made available through various outlets. The seller’s father purchased this kit from the Mystic Seaport Museum and built it approximately 60 years ago. Like many older boats, it eventually came to rest in the family’s basement until it was recently brought into daylight.
This impressive little boat has a fiberglass hull that is 36” long with a 10” beam, and weighs 11 lbs. The mast is 48” tall and she carries 600 sq in of sail. Because she was stored and protected, the hull, rig and sails are still in wonderful condition given their age.
The electronics will need refreshing and the original plexiglass hatch cover is missing, but it will take little effort to get this little beauty back on the water. (NOTE: The back stay and switch can be seen hanging off the stern.)
